I believe South Africa's Constitution protects freedom of religion, freedom of expression, and peaceful political or religious beliefs. Any legislation should uphold these rights while treating all people equally under the law. |

This does not require us to agree with one another's beliefs. Rather, it means recognizing that every person has equal dignity and the right to hold and practise their own beliefs peacefully. Thus, from a constitutional perspective: Christians have the right to believe Jesus Christ is the Messiah and to share that belief. Muslims have the right to follow Islam. Jews have the right to practise Judaism. People of other faiths—or no faith—have the same protection. We are a democratic country. We need to practice tolerance. |

We have freedom of Religion, freedom of Choice and freedom of association. This entire law goes against that. Others see South Africa as an Apartheid state even through Apartheid has been in the past for 30 years. We are the very last country to want to law up against another country, and especially against our own citizens. We cant even enforce our own crimes let alone trying this Internationally. We should rather clean up our own backyard. Furthermore this will place us directly against US & Uk democratic relations. We can not agree with this law. This will open up anyone who 'disagrees' or 'see' things differently at 'any' level politically to want to implement a new law. The world will NEVER be able to see things the same! |

This bill will override the Constitution, crush due process, and criminalize anything the government labels as “apartheid activity” — including PR stunts, free speech, criticism of the ANC, defending minority rights, or even making YouTube videos. It is the most authoritarian law proposed in democratic South Africa. This will infringe on my constitutional rights to freedom of speech and freedom of religion. It is dangerous to prescribe what people may or may not say, support or believe. I therefore reject the proposed bill. I respectfully oppose this Bill because I believe it creates unnecessary constitutional uncertainty and has the potential to undermine the fundamental freedoms of religion, expression, conscience, and association protected by the Constitution. As a Christian, I am deeply concerned that vague drafting could have unintended consequences for churches, pastors, and believers who peacefully express their biblical convictions or engage in prayer, teaching, travel, and humanitarian support. I urge Parliament to protect both justice and the constitutional rights of all South Africans by rejecting or substantially revising this Bill. |
