I understand the reason for rates and taxes and agree the need for them but we are being over taxed and charged too much for our rates compared to what we get for our rates and taxes.

There is too much corruption and mis management of our rates and taxes.

Rates and Taxes are artificial capitalist extractive mechanisms of extortion... Persons living in the sane house sane neighborhood taking care of their own family property for generations are penalized for their part in the stability of an area and the region. Tourism sector is attracted to stable regions and so is business, yet capitalist driven shortsighted employment of taxes for the resident ...not only decreases the spend in the local economy of that resident ...it also reduces the ability of that resident to maintain property that affects the stability and attraction of the region. The more sustainable mechanism of revenue generation would be to impose these taxes on the visitors and businesses benefiting from the stability of the region rather than penalizing the long term residents creating the attraction to the region. Rates must not be charged, but rather fees based on services received .... availability of a service is not a service... subscription to the service must attraction costs... grid tied service for electricity sewage and water must be a choice not an imposition... off grid is also an option... more sustainable for the region or cost centre as those that use it pay for it.

If the municipality spending of public funds is constantly unauthorized. Irregular, fruitless, and wasteful expenditure the public should not be punished by paying for such. Therefore there must be a freeze of rates and those thieves must pay.

Met al die korrupsie wat in hierdie land plaasvind, en die steeds stygende lewenskoste, het ons 'n kans nodig om weer asem te haal. Hoe meer belasting daar is, hoe meer geleenthede is daar om te steel. Ons word vir alles belas terwyl slegs 'n paar bly en die res wegkom. En die rykes word ryker.

Met die regering wat belasting op alles verhoog, die brandstof wat so duur is en die hoë munisipale jaarlikse verhoging, kan gesinne dit nie meer bekostig om te leef nie.

Mense kan skaars meer belasting bekostig en die belastinggeld word net gesteel. Die munisipaliteit is nutteloos, ons betaal hulle vir niks.

Swak padonderhoud in die stad. Florapark is al meer as ses jaar sonder water. Ons kan nie altyd staatmaak op watertenkwaens wat nie gereeld beskikbaar is nie. Tariewe en belasting het gestyg, maar daar is geen waarde vir geld nie.

Daar is te veel korrupsie, en ons betaal reeds te veel eiendoms- en belastingheffings.

Die regering moet eers korrupsie uitroei voordat enige belasting verhoog word.

Sodra korrupsie uitgeroei is, behoort ons minder belasting te betaal, nie meer nie.

Korrupte amptenare moet ondersoek word en wanneer hulle skuldig bevind word, moet hul boedels verkoop word en die geld moet in die munisipale koffers verhaal word.

Belasting moet tot ons voordeel gebruik word, en dienste moet volgens die hoogste standaarde gelewer word.
